Why this Project?

The cross-border flow of ideas, concepts, students, and young specialists, coupled with developments in information and communication technology offers new opportunities for the improvement of medical education and patient care in developing countries. One of the advantages of this new reality is that the developing nations win a huge number of native-speaking specialists, who are aware of the situation in their home countries and are successful in their new Homeland.

An emotional tie to one’s native country is one of many strengths these specialists can contribute to development in their homelands. The observations of the past several years show that young people from developing countries who have achieved their career goals in European countries and US have also built various networks to help their countrymen. These initiatives are an effective tool for the transfer of the best practice in education and research to developing countries. Furthermore, these connections facilitate to learn from world leading specialists through different kind of events, such as Conferences, Seminars and Training

Motivated from these positive developments, we initiate a web-based project aiming to share best practice in medical education, science and patient care.

This project aims to promote knowledge transfer to developing countries through regular online meetings in the format of “students to students”, “medical residents to residents”, “specialist to specialists”, “researcher to researcher”.

The topics of these meetings will be identified according to the needs of both sides and will cover best practices of both graduate and postgraduate medical education, science and patient care.

This will be done through Videoconferences, which will be held on regular basis according to the needs accessed by the project team. The meetings or in advance prepared presentations will be posted the Youtube Channel of the project upon agreement of the Speaker.

The guests will be the medical students studying in the western Universities, specialists of a developing country origin who are at advanced stages of their career and world leading specialists in their fields.
